Fit Chic Headbands was started in 2007 by Julie Condry. Julie had started running as a stress relief after her son, Cole, was diagnosed with Autism. She was searching for a headband that would not only be functional, but would also look great. After coming up with a design, her mother sewed a few for her. People were constantly asking her where she got it and suddenly Julie had the idea to start marketing them to stores. This could be a way to earn extra money to pay for the expensive speech and occupational therapy that Cole needed and allow her the flexibility to stay home with her boys.
Julie and her mom, LeeAnn, got to work and started making headbands around the clock. After two short months they were already in several stores and the business was taking off. Julie then hired her Aunt, Tricia Scott, and Cousins to help run things. There are now 10 amazing ladies working for Fit Chic sewing, shipping and monogramming to make sure all Fit Chic orders are shipped within 3 business days.
Julie graduated with a Marketing degree from The University of Oklahoma. She is married to her best friend Jay and they have two young boys who keep them very busy. Julie also has a passion for raising Autism Awareness. Julie has made it a commitment to donate to several organizations that help families going through the process of affording therapy.
Fit Chic Headbands have been featured in NBC's The List, In Touch Magazine, and can now be purchased in over 300 stores across the nation. All of the headbands are handmade with LOVE in Oklahoma.
